National Mathematics Day celebrated by paying tribute to the mathematical genius Srinivasa Ramanujan.
With an aim to bring an awareness among the students about the immense contribution made by the 20th century mathematical genius, Srinivasa Ramanujan, students of Grade 2 B paid a tribute to his immortal memory by discussing his extraordinary life, struggles and achievements.
The main objective of the assembly was to understand the importance of mathematics in our daily life. The session started with prayer, thought for the day, speech, amazing facts, riddles, breaking news, and teacher’s talk and concluded by the words of the Principal.
Srinivasa Ramanujan was born on 22nd December 1887 in Erode, Tamil Nadu, and within his short span of life which ended on 26 April 1920, he had proven his unmatched genius to the world. Though he had almost no formal training in pure mathematics, he made substantial contributions to mathematical analysis, number theory, infinite series, and continued fractions, including solutions to mathematical problems then considered unsolvable.
